The holiday season is fast approaching, and Lyndhurst is getting ready to welcome it in style with two wonderfully festive community gatherings. Twinkling lights, sparkling fireworks, cheerful choirs, bustling markets, Santa sightings, and plenty of family-friendly fun will all help bring the village to life with a joyful burst of Christmas spirit.

The festive season begins with Lyndhurst’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On, taking place on Saturday 29th November at 6:00pm, right outside The Stag Hotel. This much-loved evening brings the whole community together for music, lights, and a spectacular burst of holiday magic.

The build-up starts early with:

  • 4:45pm – Sweet Charity Choir, bringing beautiful harmonies to the high street

  • 5:20pm – Liam White, performing live

  • 6:00pm – The big Switch-On, lighting up Lyndhurst for the season

  • Fireworks, adding extra sparkle to the celebration

For safety, the road will be closed from 5:45pm to 6:30pm. Visitors can also scan the QR code featured on the event poster to learn more and support the community with donations.

🎅 Christmas Fun Day – Saturday 6th December

The festive cheer continues the following week with Lyndhurst’s joyful Christmas Fun Day, running from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday 6th December. With free entry and something for all ages, it’s the perfect way to spend a wintery Saturday.

Throughout the day, the village will be buzzing with:

  • Live music in the high street

  • A marching band and performances from the Rock Choir

  • Kids games and face painting

  • A bustling Xmas Market with seasonal stalls

  • A tombola for a bit of festive fun

  • Free parking all day

And of course, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa. For £7.00, children can meet Santa and receive a small gift. Then at 5:00pm, Santa will make his way down the high street for a special gathering around the Christmas tree. The road will be closed from 4:45pm to 5:30pm to make room for the festivities.
